A Motorbike Fell Into A 30 Meter Ravine, Police Checked The Permit For Excavation C In Situbondo

East Java - The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Situbondo Resort Police (Polres), East Java, conducted an investigation into the licensing of the C excavation mine in Kotakan Village after the death of a motorbike rider as a result of falling into a 30 meter ravine in the mining area on Saturday, September 30.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for the Situbondo Police, AKP Momon Suwito Pratomo, stated that his members were still carrying out investigations regarding the permit for the C excavation mine in Cangkring Hamlet, Kotakan Village, Situbondo District.

"We are still carrying out investigations, and yesterday (after the incident) we visited the mine site and indeed the location where the victim fell was not passed by anyone," said AKP Momon, Sunday, October 1.

He also admitted that he did not know for sure whether the C excavation mine location had a mining business permit (IUP) or was operating illegally, and if it did not have a complete permit then mining operations had to be stopped.

"If you don't have a complete permit, you are not allowed to operate until the permit is complete," said Momon.

According to information gathered, motorbike rider Bagus Bahari (30) died in a terrible condition, with a broken neck and both arms, head injuries after falling at the C excavation mine site from a height of around 30 meters while passing over the mine excavation.

Bagus Bahari and his younger brother Ridho (10) wanted to fly kites up the hill at the mining site. When passing a slightly uphill path, the late Bagus lost control and fell into a ravine about 30 meters deep.

Ridho (the victim's younger brother) survived because before he fell, he asked to get off the motorbike, and Bagus continued his journey alone, trying to cross the path until finally the victim fell and died.

Bagus was taken to hospital by his older sister. In fact, on the way, Bagus was still complaining of pain. However, as soon as he entered the emergency room at the Regional General Hospital, Dr. Abdoer Rahem Situbondo, the victim's life could no longer be saved.
