PDIP National Working Meeting IV Agrees That Ganjar's Vice Presidential Candidate Will Be Announced By Megawati At The Right Moment

The PDI-P (PDIP) confirmed that the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) accompanying Ganjar Pranowo would be conveyed by General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.

This decision is one of the recommendation points for the PDIP Rakernas IV which was read out today, Sunday, October 1.

"The party's Rakernas IV has fully handed over to the PDI-P General Chair regarding the announcement of the vice presidential candidate who will accompany Mr. Ganjar Pranowo at the right momentum," said PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto while reading external recommendations at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Sunday.

"Considering political dynamics, the movement of three pillars of the party at the grassroots, the readiness of the legislative election winning body, and the consolidation of the presidential winning team," he continued.

Next, the PDIP Rakernas IV recommended a mutual cooperation strategy to win the 2024 General Election (Pemilu). This party is also determined to carry out a democratic party with a campaign containing narratives of progress and continuing the administration of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Through this recommendation, PDIP also ordered its cadres to come down to meet the people. This step is to win Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate.

"Rakernas IV of the party is determined to implement the decision of the General Chairperson of the PDI-P on April 21, 2023, which stipulates the PDI-P cadre, Mr. Ganjar Pranowo, as a presidential candidate," said Hasto.

"And instruct all party sympathizers, members, and cadres at every level to cooperate with all elements of society, supporting political parties, and volunteers to win the 2024 Presidential Election," he continued.

Previously reported, PDIP held the National Working Meeting IV for three days starting September 29-1 October.

The activity took the theme 'Food Sovereignty for the Welfare of the Indonesian People' with the theme 'Pangan as the Symbol of the Predemic of Indonesian Leadership for the World'.

The election of this theme was emphasized by PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri not because of the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). He said his party was indeed focused on food problems so that Indonesia could be sovereign and stand on its own feet or independent.
