Police Arrest 2 Men Carrying Methamphetamine In Tapteng, North Sumatra

The police arrested two men who owned methamphetamine-type narcotics on Jalan Baru, Aek Horsik Village, Sipange Village, Tukka District, Central Tapanuli Regency (Tapteng), North Sumatra (North Sumatra).

The two perpetrators were NPS (43), a resident of Pandan District, and RSM (27), a resident of Sarudik District.

"The two perpetrators were arrested by officers, Thursday (September 28) at around 22.30 WIB, on Jalan Baru, Tapteng Regency," said Head of Drugs at the Sibolga Police, AKP Sugiono, Friday, September 29, as reported by Antara.

Sugiono said that the two police had secured a small clear plastic pack containing crystal powder suspected of having methamphetamine with a gross weight of 0.99 grams, a white tissue sheet, a pack of cigarettes, and a black cellphone.

The incident began when joint personnel received information from the public about the whereabouts of two men possessing methamphetamine-type narcotics on Jalan Baru Aek Horsik, Tapteng Regency.

"Then, personnel went down to the location to conduct an investigation and arrested the two perpetrators," he said.

Kasat Narkoba said that during a search of one of the perpetrators, RSM found evidence of a pack of cigarettes, and a clear plastic wrap.

Evidence of the methamphetamine type narcotics wrapped in white tissue was found in the right trouser pocket of the front of the RSM.

During the interrogation of the RSM, he admitted that the methamphetamine type narcotics belonged to the NPS. The two suspects and the evidence were brought to the Sibolga Police for further investigation.

"In this case, the suspect will be charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) subs Article 112 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics," said Sugiono.
