Jokowi Restui Kaesang Berseiprah Di Politik

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo gave his blessing to his son, Kaesang Pangarep, to take part in the world of politics through the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI).

"Yes, (Kaesang) asked for the blessing of his parents. Yes, I give my blessing," said Jokowi after attending the opening of the National Jambore Dai in Madani Parmusi Village at Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park (TNGGP), Cibodas, Cianjur Regency, West Java, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 26.

Regarding the appointment of Kaesang as general chairman shortly after officially joining PSI, Jokowi said his youngest son was an adult and had a family.

"Yes, asked PSI, asked Kaesang, wong is an adult, already has a family, already has a wife, the time to ask his father," said Jokowi.

He emphasized that his family is used to being responsible. When someone is married and has a partner, said Jokowi, they must be able to be independent and be responsible for all decisions.

"In my family, I am used to that, that if you are married, especially if you already have a wife, you already have your own house, yes, you have to be responsible, you have to be independent. What has been decided, it must have been calculated as good and bad, the risk is calculated," he said.

Jokowi also stated that he was reluctant to give any message to Kaesang because he considered his son an adult.

"There is no (message), it's big, mostly messages," said Jokowi.
