No Longer A Minor, Four Armed Youths Sharp In Cengkareng Charged With Emergency Law

The four teenagers with sharp weapons (sajam) with the initials Z (20), N (17), I (19) and L (17) were arrested by the Cengkareng Police for being involved in a brawl in the Kapuk area, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

One of the three perpetrators arrested was named a suspect. He has the initials Z (20). The young man with the initials Z was also carried out follow-up to the criminal process because he was an adult.

"We have secured four perpetrators of the brawl. One adult with the initials Z (20) has carried out a criminal process. Z has also been named a suspect," said Cengkareng Police Chief Kompol Hasoloan Situmorang to VOI, Monday, September 25.

Meanwhile, three other people with the initials N (17), I (19) and L (17) are still witnesses because they are minors.

"For the 3 people to be witnesses," he said.

As a result of his actions, suspect Z is threatened with being charged with Law No. 12 of 1951 (Emergency Law) related to sharp weapons.

Previously, the four brawlers were arrested by the West Jakarta Metro Police Precise Pioneer Patrol Team in the Cengkareng area on Sunday.

In addition, the Precision Patrol Team also arrested other brawlers in the Kalideres area. A total of 12 teenagers were arrested and handed over to the Cengkareng Police and Kalideres Police.

The pieces of evidence that were secured from the perpetrators of the brawl in the two sub-districts were 1 golf stick, 1 machete, 4 sickles, 2 comb machetes, 2 samurai to a long plate.

Head of Samapta Polres Metro West Jakarta, AKBP M Hari Agung Julianto said, 4 teenagers were arrested in the Kapuk area, Cengkareng, with evidence of 2 sickle blades, 2 comb machetes, 2 samurai and long iron.

Meanwhile, 8 other teenagers were secured in the Kalideres area. Of the 8 teenagers, 1 golf club, 1 machete, and 2 sickles were confiscated.

"In total there are 12 teenagers and 10 sharp and blunt weapons that we have secured. We are taking firm action and will legal proceedings for the perpetrators," he said.
