Democrats Support Prabowo, AHY: Need Leaders To Keep Words With Action

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party has officially promoted Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 election. This was stated by the General Chairperson of the Demkokrat Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) in the Democratic Party National Meeting.

The Democratic Party finally joined the Forward Indonesia Coalition to support Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election. This decision was taken after the Democratic Party revoked cooperation with the party supporting Anies Baswedan who collaborated with Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres).

In his speech, AHY considered Prabowo to be a figure who realized that leadership needed a big team to support him. Prabowo, according to him, was a figure who did not deny his words and actions.

"Leaders who are aware that he is not Superman, therefore he needs a super team. We also need a patriotic leader. We also need a strong leader with character and experience. And most importantly, always take care of one word with action," said AHY at the Jakarta Convention Center, Thursday, September 21.

He also assessed that the figure of an Indonesian leader must be able to embrace all groups. According to Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's son, Prabowo is a figure in accordance with the criteria for the leader in question.

"The figure of the leader with the criteria is in the midst of us at this time. Mr. Prabowo Subianto," he added.

AHY is of the view that the nation's problems still need to be improved. Prospective Indonesian leaders, according to him, still need to make policy changes in the economic sector and people's welfare, law and justice, as well as democracy and freedom of expression.

"This is the essence of change and improvement that we must fight for. I am optimistic Why? Because Pak Prabowo said the constant in true life is change itself," said Prabowo.

"That is the two expectations that we have entrusted to you. We believe that under the leadership of Pak Prabowo, continuity and change towards an advanced Indonesia in the future we can realize together," he continued.

In the Rapimnas Democrat event, the chairman of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto, the chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto, and the chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan were also present.

Then, Chairman of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Chairman of the Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora) Anis Matta, Chairman of the People's Party Adil Makmur (Prima) Agus Jabo Priyono, Chairman of the Garuda Party Ahmad Ridha Sabana, and acting (Plt) Secretary General (Secretary General) of the PSI DPP, Isyana Bagoes Oka.
