TPN Claims Jokowi Participates In Determining Vice Presidential Candidate For Ganjar Pranowo's Companion

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Ganjar Pranowo National Winning Team, Benny Rhamdani, said that President Joko Widodo played a role in determining the figure of a candidate for vice president who would accompany the presidential candidate for PDI-P Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election.

"That (candidate for Ganjar's companion) will be decided later by the 'gods', namely the general chairmen of the party with Pak Jokowi," said Benny after the TPN Ganjar meeting in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 20.

Not only Jokowi, the general chairmen of political parties carrying Ganjar were also involved in determining the candidate for vice president.

The general chairmen of the political parties include PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri, Acting Chairperson of PPP Muhamad Mardiono, Perindo Party Chair Hary Tanoesoedibjo, and Hanura Party Chairperson Oesman Sapta Odang.

According to him, Jokowi as a PDIP cadre who succeeded in not being left by Megawati in important decisions. This is also so that other parties do not claim Jokowi as part of them.

"Yes, PDIP doesn't want to, so we withdraw Mr. Jokowi," he said.

Even so, Ganjar Pranowo's assistant vice presidential candidate has yet to be decided. A number of names also have the opportunity to accompany Ganjar Pranowo, such as Erick Thohir, Sandiaga Uno, Andika Perkasa, and Mahfud MD.

Benny said TPN was still considering the blessing of the earth and the sky. For this reason, he asked the public to be patient waiting for the figure of the vice presidential candidate, which is considered to be a surprise in the 2024 presidential election.

"What is certain is that whoever the vice presidential candidate will be decided, of course, will get the blessing of the sky and the blessing of the earth," said Benny.
