BENGKULU - The Office of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Kaur Regency, Bengkulu Province, was searched by the Kaur District Attorney (Kejari).

The search is related to the investigation into allegations of corruption in the factual verification fund (verfak) of political parties (parpol) sourced from the 2022 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

"Yes, it is true that currently investigators are conducting searches at the Kaur KPU, later we will inform you again," said Head of the Kaur Kejari, Muhammad Yunus when confirmed, Tuesday, September 19, confiscated by Antara. The search was carried out since 10:00 WIB. Investigators examined several files related to political party verification funds. Previously, there were Rp560 million. Previously, Kejari Kaur investigators had summoned several witnesses related to the case being investigated for corruption.

Meanwhile, in May 2023 the Panel of Judges at the Corruption Crime Court at the Bengkulu District Court sentenced the two defendants to 4 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million to two defendants, namely the former Secretary of the Kaur Regency KPU, namely Sunarsan and the KPU Commitment Making Officer Kaur Ujang Nopizar. The two defendants were found guilty of the corruption case of the Kaur General Election Commission (KPU) grant grant with a 2019-2020 budget with a total fund of Rp. 25 billion. So that it caused state losses of Rp. 958 million.
