Bring Cak Imin, Anies Openly Asks PKS For Restu On Companion In The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - The candidate for the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) Anies Baswedan has openly asked PKS for blessing to side by side with PKB General Chair (Ketum) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin in the 2024 presidential election. Accompanied by the NasDem Party elite, Anies brought Cak Imin to be introduced to PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu and the board members and the Shura Council.

"We lead Mr. Muhaimin Iskandar as God willing, this will be a good start for Indonesia's change later," said Anies at the PKS DPP office in Simatupang, South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 12.

"And this is the custom, if we take them to a place for parents, bring in prospective seniors, it must be introduced, but now there is no need to introduce them, they are well known, and have worked together," he continued.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta said that Cak Imin's election as a vice presidential candidate had gone through a long process between the two parties. He admitted that he was ready to take part in the five-year contest with the deputy chairman of the DPR.

"Alhamdulillah, the process has reached the end and what is called a coincidence, often is an opportunity that meets with readiness. If there is no readiness, that opportunity does not come true," said Anies. Meanwhile, PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu ensured that he would immediately bring Cak Imin's name to be discussed and supported as Anies' vice presidential candidate at the shuro assembly meeting. "On behalf of the PKS president, I will bring the results of a warm and positive meeting this afternoon at the shuro assembly meeting forum which will discuss the name of Mr. Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar as a future vice presidential candidate who will accompany Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan," said Syaikhu.
