Police Investigate Causes Of Abandoned Cable Accidents In Bandung Regency

Police officers are still investigating the case of a single accident experienced by a motorcyclist with the initials Y (50) to death, allegedly due to being blocked by a fishing cable on Jalan Mochammad Toha-Dayeuhkolot, Bandung Regency, West Java, Saturday (9/9).

"We are still investigating this, not necessarily because of fiber optic cables," said Bandung Police Chief Commissioner Kusworo Wibowo at the Bandung Police Headquarters, Soreang, Bandung Regency, Sunday, quoting Antara.

In processing the crime scene carried out by the police, Kusworo said that there was indeed an optical fiber cable that stretched, but the location was one meter before the victim's position fell.

It is suspected that the condition of the chain cable was not hit by an accident driver.

"However, we know that the victim's body was one meter before the cable and the position of the motorbike was two to three meters before the cable," he said.

Furthermore, he said his party was still investigating the direct cause of this accident.

In the accident, Kusworo said that after examining several witnesses, it was suspected that the victim died in a single accident.

"Meanwhile, we have taken the statements of several witnesses who stated that they had a single accident," said Kusworo.

To avoid other accidents caused by fiber optic cables, Kusworo said he had contacted all relevant parties to always control the presence of cables that disturb road users.

"Always control the cables that hang down so that they are tidied up, don't let this interfere with high vehicles," he said.

Previously, a single accident occurred on Jalan Mochammad Toha-Dayeuhkolot, Bandung Regency, West Java, on Saturday (9/9) at 04.30 WIB.

At the time of the incident, the victim crossed towards Dayeuhkolot and fell after making a sudden braking because it was suspected that there was a cable hanging down.

"According to the testimony of the witnesses, the person concerned made a sudden braking at the TKP because it was suspected that there was a transverse cable," said Head of Bandung Police Traffic Unit, Kompol Mangku Anom in Soreang, Bandung Regency, Saturday (9/9).

As a result of the single accident, the victim with the initials Y (50) died on the spot and was evacuated to the Al Ihsan Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Baleendah, Bandung Regency.

"The victim was brought to the Al Ihsan Hospital and now the victim's family has brought the victim to be buried," he said.
