MUKOMUKO - Mukomuko Regency Government, Bengkulu Province, is selective in granting permission for doctors who wish to change assignments. This step was taken to anticipate the shortage of medical personnel in the region.

This was conveyed by the Regent of Mukomuko Sapuan. There are several things that must be fulfilled for doctors in Mukomuko so that they can move to other areas. "Right now, I am selective in giving permission for doctors to move assignments. If the doctor is excess, he may move, if he is new and only alone he is not allowed to move," said Sapuan in Bengkulu, Sunday, September 10. He said this was in response to the presence of several general practitioners who served in health care facilities in this area who applied for permits to move out of other regions. He stated, sometimes the doctor knows that health workers in health care facilities are lacking, but he asked for help to change their duties. In fact, the Mukomuko Regency Government is currently proposing additional general practitioners and doctors who have certain skills but are not yet in this area. He mentioned, one of them is the application for additional physiotherapy personnel to the central government because until now the government hospitals in this area do not yet have these workers. "We propose to the central government for physiotherapy personnel, including doctors and nurses," he said, quoted from Antara.

In addition, most of the people in Mukomuko Regency seek treatment in West Sumatra Province, precisely in hospitals in the Bukit Tinggi area. "After we checked the hospital in West Sumatra, the majority of the people of Mukomuko Regency were treated there, because many of our people were sick," he said. For that, he said, hopefully in the future the request for fisiotherapy and additional doctors and nurses was granted by the central government. In addition, he also hopes that the central government will give permission for physiotherapy experts to provide health services to the community in this area. Head of the Mukomuko District Health Office (Dinkes) Bustam Bustomo said, based on data from the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) of this area as many as 96 doctors in this area were spread in hospitals and 17 local health service centers. He said, of the dozens of doctors, this area still lacks specialist doctors including physiotherapist staff.
