TNI Commander: Military Prisons Are Much More Angker & Intolerant Than General Prisons

JAKARTA - So far, many people may not know that the military also has a Military Correctional Institution (Lemasmil) which is much worse than the General Correctional Institution (Lapas). The famous Lemasmil "angker" made a deterrent of soldiers who had dealt with this institution.

This was conveyed by the TNI Commander, TNI Admiral Yudo Margono, SE, MM, when receiving a grant of 6 ambulances from Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) at the TNI Headquarters Plaza, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Friday, September 8.

The handover was carried out by the Executive Vice President of BRI, M. Choliq, accompanied by Vice President Riza Pahlevi to the Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Admiral TNI Kresno Buntoro, witnessed by the TNI Commander and top officials of the TNI Headquarters.

According to the plan, 6 BRI aid ambulances will be distributed to 6 Lenasmil spread throughout Indonesia, namely in Medan, Cimahi, Surabaya, Makassar, Banjar Baru, and Jayapura.

"On behalf of TNI soldiers, I would like to thank the President Director of BRI, of which these 6 ambulance units will be handed over to the Babinkum TNI which will later be used in Military Correctional Institutions spread throughout Indonesia to strengthen humanitarian duties," said TNI Admiral Yudo Margono.

On the same occasion, BRI's Executive Vice President, M. Choliq, who represented the BRI President Director, expressed his gratitude that BRI has been accepted as a partner to support the TNI's operations.

"We are also determined to increase our cooperation, we hope that these 6 ambulance units will have a positive impact on TNI soldiers, we also want to prove that the TNI and BRI will always synergize," he concluded.
