The Mataram City Government, West Nusa Tenggara Province, will re-check the memorandum of understanding in charge of the Tabako (Kokok Bawang Park) manager or Jangkuk River Base in Sukaraja Ampenan, so that it can be managed optimally.
"To find out for sure the conditions and who is responsible for the management of Tabako, we need to check the location and memorandum of understanding to make it clearer," said Mataram City Regional Secretary (Sekda) Lalu Alwan Basri in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, September 5.
The statement was made in response to Tabako's condition, which is currently concerning because apart from being damaged, a number of facilities and accessories in the park are also missing.
In fact, the construction of Tabako as well as the arrangement of the Jangkuk River Basin (DAS) in the south uses a budget of around Rp. 9 billion from the Ministry of PUPR in 2020.
"That's why we immediately checked Tabako's condition physically and non-physically. We don't want it to be a reference for the central government to implement the program in the future," he said.
Meanwhile, the confirmed Ampenan sub-district head Muzakkir Walad said that to carry out maintenance and supervision, officers from local residents should be alerted.
"If officers from local residents, they will have moral responsibility and regarding miscommunication, they should be resolved internally by regional apparatus organizations (OPD)," he said.
According to Muzakkir, miscommunication occurred because at first Tabako was managed by the Housing and Settlement Areas Service (Disperkim), but to support the cleanliness of the Environment Agency (DLH) placed sweeping officers.
With the sweeping officer, at least the cleanliness in Tabako can be handled every day. It's just that for one reason or another, the officer was withdrawn by DLH to serve on Langko Street.
"We hope that officers in Tabako can return to standby so that the park can be optimized for various community activities," he said.
On the other hand, Muzakkir proposed to maximize the supervision, maintenance, and management of Tabako, his party proposed to form a tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis).
"If there is pokdarwis, God willing, Tabako can be maintained and used optimally for various activities so that it can become an additional source of regional income," he said.
