Kompas Research And Development Survey Reveals Ganjar Rebound's Electability Because Many Beginners Choose

JAKARTA - The survey conducted by Litbang Kompas between 27 July and 7 August 2023 shows a significant increase in Ganjar Pranowo's electability.

This increase was driven by support from novice voters, who previously tended to leave Ganjar.

According to the Kompas Research and Development Report, in early 2023, Ganjar Pranowo occupied the top position in the electability map of presidential candidates (candidates) with 25.3 percent. At that time, about 22.4 percent of novice voters supported Ganjar.

However, in the June 2023 survey, Ganjar's electability fell to 22.8 percent, and support from novice voters also fell to 20.9 percent.

At the same time, novice voters mostly switched to support Prabowo, whose electability outperformed Ganjar in a survey in June 2023.

Litbang Kompas noted that around 25.5 percent of the total voters who supported Prabowo at that time were novice voters. This shows that Prabowo managed to attract the attention of novice voters in that period.

However, in the latest survey of the August 2023 edition, Ganjar Pranowo's electability rebounded, reached 24.9 percent, and returned to the top rank.

Not only that, the proportion of novice voters who support Ganjar also increased to around 23.2 percent.

On the other hand, the proportion of novice voters who support Prabowo has decreased to 19.1 percent.

"The increase in Ganjar's electability in this last survey also confirms the return of the support of novice voters to him," wrote Litbang Kompas.

This survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews and involved 1,364 randomly selected respondents using a graded systematic stabbing method in 38 provinces.

With a confidence level of 95 percent and a margin of error of around 2.65 percent under the conditions of simple random sampling.
