JAKARTA - The first day of the application of fines to vehicles that did not pass the emission test, there were 8 vehicles that had not met the quality standards set by the DKI Jakarta Environmental Service (LH). The policy of ticketing for emission tests was also complained by passing motorists.

Majdi, one of the motorcyclists who was ticketed for failing to pass the emission test, said that the emission test ticket was not effective because it only targeted vehicles passing on the slow lane. According to him, vehicles passing on the fast route actually escaped the raid.

"As a vehicle user, I don't understand that there is a ticket like this. But why don't I stop the others, that's what I'm confused about. If you really want to try everything should be ticketed one by one," Majdi told reporters at the location, Friday, September 1.

Majdi also asked for justice for the actions taken by the emission test checking officer. This is because according to Majdi, there are still many vehicles that are not ticketed and have escaped the emission test raid.

"It should be beaten evenly, I ask for justice like that, don't just go through here, try the middle one, where? There should be a lot of middle lanes passing by," he said.

Majdi hopes that officers will act fairly in enforcing the rules.

"Everything must be ticketed, all emission tests, do you pass? Don't look at someone, just part of it, it's useless if it's only part," he regretted.

Please note, there were eight vehicles that were ticketed by joint officers while crossing Jalan Industri Raya, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta on Friday, September 1.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Committee, AKP Dodi said today's emission test raids for vehicles that were terminated were 39 units.

"Of the four diesel cars that were stopped, three of them did not pass the emission test. Nine units of gasoline cars passed all. A total of 26 motorbikes were inspected, 5 units did not pass, 21 motorbikes escaped all," said AKP Dodi to reporters.

While responding to complaints from motorists, AKP Dodi said motorists were allegedly indifferent to information on socialization on social media.

"We carry out raids to prioritize safety, if on the fast lane all vehicles are fast, if we stop suddenly what happens, it can be a successive collision. That's why we are looking for safety, both motorists and officers, so we take it on the slow lane first. Maybe in the future, if possible, we will narrow the fast lane, then we will take it from the fast lane," he said.
