Through Anies' Letter, AHY Became A Vice Presidential Candidate But In The End Of Mining Cak Imin For A Companion

JAKARTA - Maneuver bakal capres Anies Baswedan membidang Ketua Umum PKB, Muhaimin Iskandar atau Cak Imin sebagai cawapres di Pilpres 2024 membuat Partai Demokrat. Hal ini lantaran sebelum mengindang Cak Imin, Anies diketahui mengirim surat pengajuan kepada Ketua Umum Partai Demokrat, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.

Through a letter written by his own hand, Anies asked AHY to become the vice presidential candidate who accompanied him. The application letter was written by Anies Baswedan in mid-August and witnessed by two people.

"Through this short message, we intend to convey our hope that Mas AHY is willing to become a partner in participating in the 2024 presidential election," Anies wrote in a letter to AHY quoted on Friday, September 1.

The letter, which was called the Coordinator for the DPP Spokesperson for the Democratic Party, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, was written on August 25, 2023, containing Anies' hope for AHY to be willing to be his companion to run for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

Previously, the Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Teuku Riefky Harsya, admitted that it was difficult to believe that Anies Baswedan chose Cak Imin as his vice presidential candidate to fight in the 2024 presidential election. For the Democrats, Cak Imin's election as Anies' vice presidential candidate was a betrayal.

Meanwhile, Friday afternoon, the Democrat Party is scheduled to hold a meeting of the upper house at the residence of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), who is also the chairman of the Democratic Party's High Council, at Puri Cikeas, Bogor, West Java.

The meeting was scheduled to discuss coalition issues following the stipulation of Anies-Muhaimin. Teuku Riefky explained that the meeting was held because the authority to determine the coalition, presidential candidates, and vice presidential candidates was decided by the High Council of the Democratic Party.
