Prabowo Relaxes About PKB Issues Meeting NasDem For Anies-Cak Imin Duet

JAKARTA - The General Chair of the Gerindra Party as well as the presidential candidate from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), Prabowo Subianto responded casually to the news of the close of the National Awakening Party (PKB) to the NasDem Party, which was said to have approved the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin duet.

According to Prabowo, the news is part of Indonesian democracy.

"Yes, this is our democracy. Our democracy is deliberated," said Prabowo after speaking at the Golkar Institute at the Golkar Party DPP, Jakarta, Thursday, August 31.

When answering this question, Prabowo was also accompanied by General Chairperson of Golkar Airlangga Hartarto. It is known that Golkar and PAN are political parties that have just joined the Gerindra-PKB coalition.

Prabowo also admitted that he had not heard the news of the Anies-Cak Imin duet. Therefore, he responded casually to the issue.

"I myself have not heard of the plans. But it is democracy, we are negotiating, we are deliberating, taking it easy," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding his assistant, Prabowo said that in time the name Cawapres would be announced.

"The vice president will have time," he said.

Previously, the Democratic Party opened its voice about Anies Baswedan's meeting with the mother of PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin.

Democrats said their party was forced to agree with the Anies-Cak Imin duo. The approval was taken unilaterally by the Head of NasDem Surya Paloh.

"Yesterday, August 30, 2023, we received information from Sudirman Said, representing the presidential candidate Anies Baswedan, that Anies had approved the political cooperation of the NasDem Party and PKB, to carry the pair Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar," said Secretary-General of Democrats Teuku Riefky Harsya in his statement, Thursday, August 31.

"This approval is carried out unilaterally on the initiative of the Head of NasDem, Surya Paloh," he added.
