JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that Indonesia managed to make a 10-ladder leap in the world's competitiveness ranking in the midst of competition between countries in fighting over export market opportunities and fierce investment.

"We are grateful that the IMD Global Competitiveness Index in 2023, Indonesia will increase from 44 to 34. Up to 10 rankings, this is in the highest category in the world because of the 10 ranking jump," said President Jokowi during a speech at the Opening of the XVIII National Working Meeting of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) 2023 reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 31.

President Jokowi said Indonesia's competitiveness in the competition, one of which was proven by the achievements of providing infrastructure that received a positive response to the world.

"And the competitiveness component, our competitiveness is the best in infrastructure. Now we are considered good in infrastructure," he said.

In addition to infrastructure, said Jokowi, business efficiency in Indonesia also jumped up 11 rankings, followed by government efficiency which also rose four places.

"But the best thing is economic performance, up 13 places from the previous 42 to 29," he said.

President Jokowi invites all parties to continue to increase Indonesia's competitiveness index so that it will be better in responding to global competition.

"This ranking business is not us who issued it, but this is international," he said.
