AMBON - The panel of judges at the Ambon District Court, Maluku, sentenced Gazali Husen to five years in prison, who is a defendant in a drug abuse crime.

The judge sentenced the defendant to five years in prison minus while he was in detention and paid a fine of Rp800 thousand, a subsidiary of four months in prison.

The panel of judges also determined evidence in the form of Determination Number 221 / Pend.Pid.B-SITA / 2023 / PN Ambon dated April 10, 2023, a package of narcotics class one type of plant in the form of marijuana packaged using small clear clamp plastic weighing 1.08 grams was confiscated for destruction.

The evidence of dried marijuana was secured by the police from the hands of witness Nur Hidayat Ugi when Gazali was arrested in early April 2023.

The verdict of the panel of judges was still lighter than the demands of the Ambon Public Prosecutor's Office who asked the defendant to be legally and convincingly proven guilty and sentenced to six years in prison.
