JAKARTA - The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo will help repatriate the body of Indonesian citizen Josi Putri Cahayani who was found dead in an apartment in Gunma Prefecture, Japan.

"(The body) is currently still in the autopsy process. We are waiting for confirmation from the Japanese Police when we can bring the body home," said the Director for Protection of Indonesian Citizens and Legal Entities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Judha Nugraha reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 25.

Judha explained that the autopsy was carried out to determine the cause of death of Josi, who is a student in Japan.

The Gunma Police have arrested a Japanese citizen with the initials KK who is the tenant of the apartment where Josi's body was found.

The man suspected of being the perpetrator of Josi's murder was arrested at a train station in Tokyo on Thursday (24/8).

Judha said the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo had communicated with Josi's family to inform them of the progress of the investigation into their son's case.

"The Indonesian Embassy will continue to monitor the legal process against the KK and assist in the process of recovering and repatriating JPC's body according to the family's request," said Judha, referring to Josi's initials.

The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo confirmed that the body of a woman found in Gunma Prefecture on Tuesday (22/8) was an Indonesian citizen named Josi Putri Cahayani.
