JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin invites the public to continue the spirit of Wali Songo in building civilization through the mosque.

This was conveyed by the Vice President when inaugurating the Abdurachman Syarif Mosque at the Sunan Gunung Jati Complex, Cirebon, West Java, Friday, August 25.

"We will build pure Islamic civilization, which is appropriate for the nine mayors to teach us to build again, we will revive them in mosques and in Islamic boarding schools," said the Vice President in a written statement, confiscated by Antara.

The Vice President said that in the past the Prophet and the guardians also continued to work to build a mosque as the center where they conveyed their teachings.

He said Allah Swt guarantees reward and heaven for anyone who builds a mosque.

The Vice President emphasized that with the increasing number of mosques in today's modern era, there will also be more and more successors of Wali Songo's spirit in spreading the teachings of goodness, both religiously and humanly.

He also advised administrators and the public to be able to prosper the Abdurachman Syarif Mosque, so that the mosque would bring goodness to many people.

"Don't let it be like people are building a coffin, building it, but so, no one wants to enter, no one wants to enter. So don't be like building a coffin," said the vice president.

"So let's prosper, be enlivened, and also not only places of worship but also centers of guidance, namely the development of Islamic civilization, that's what is done," he continued.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum who was present to accompany the Vice President expressed his hope that the mosque which was inaugurated apart from being a place of worship could also be used with religious activities that brought benefits.

"Hopefully there will be more facilities for worship, the more faith and piety of the people of West Java," Uu hoped.

Apart from the Deputy Governor of West Java, present at this event were Army Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman, Deputy Minister of Religion Saiful Rahmat Dasuki, and Deputy Army Chief of Staff Agus Subiyanto.

Meanwhile, the Vice President was accompanied by the Head of the Vice Presidential Secretariat Ahmad Erani Yustika, Deputy for Economic Policy Support and Increasing Competitiveness Guntur Iman Nefianto, Deputy for Administration Sapto Harjono WS, Special Staff of the Vice President Masduki Baidlowi, Masykuri Abdillah, M. Azis, Robikin Emhas, Zumrotul Mukafta, and Arif Rahmansyah Marbun, as well as the Vice Presidential Expert Team Farhat Brachma.
