CIANJUR - Video of the act of showing off luxury or flexing allegedly carried out by an official at a regional-owned enterprise (BUMD) in Cianjur Regency, West Java, has gone viral on social media. The action has attracted the attention of Cianjur residents, and he has also been removed from his position.

The female official who showed off her wealth was IM, who served as Head of Perumdam Tirta Mukti Cianjur Kota Branch, Cianjur Regency, West Java.

In an 18-second video uploaded on his personal Instagram account, IM shows off his wealth by showing several notes of Rp 100,000 denominations while singing following the rhythm of the dangdut song.

As a result of the actions recorded on social media, the Board of Directors of Perumdam Tirta Mukti Cianjur was forced to remove IM from his position as Head of Perumdam Tirta Mukti Cianjur Branch and withdraw him back to the head office.

General Director of Perumdam Tirta Mukti Cianjur Regency, Achmad Akbar, explained that the action was in accordance with the policy and IM was removed from his position.

"Even though it has been removed from its position, I want to make sure that there is no sanction in the form of a demotion for the person concerned, because from the results of the examination there are no indications of violations related to the source of wealth in question," he said, Friday, August 25.

IM admitted that the woman in the viral video was her. He explained that it was true that what appeared in the video was him.

"I admit my mistake in sharing it on social media. However, everything in the video is not the result of acts of corruption. You can ask all Perumdam employees Tirta Mukti about my daily activities." he explained.

IM expressed his regret for the action, apologized, and was willing to accept sanctions from the leadership if his actions were deemed to have violated the rules.

Based on information from his colleagues at work, it was revealed that IM had a fairly profitable side business. The side business is to lend money at high interest or what is referred to as a mobile bank.
