PKS Says Anies Has Pocketed The Name Of The Vice President, The Announcement Is Just Waiting For Momentum

JAKARTA - The chairman of the PKS DPP, Mardani Ali Sera, responded to the Democrat's desire for the Change Coalition to immediately declare the name of the Vice President Anies Baswedan. Because the Democrats assessed that the declaration of the vice president had not made Anies' electability decrease. According to Mardani, Anies has already pocketed one name to accompany him forward in the 2024 presidential election. The announcement of the name is just a matter of time. "There is just a name. It's just a matter of determining the time and looking for momentum and everything is handed over to Mas Anies," Mardani told reporters, Wednesday, August 23.

Mardani also emphasized that there was no traitor in the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) as referred to by the Chairman of Bappilu Democrat Andi Arief. Mardani said that all parties in the KPP tried to win Anies in the 2024 presidential election. It is known that KPP itself is a coalition formed by NasDem, PKS, and Democrats. It is suspected that the traitor was NasDem.

"There are no traitors, all trying to win Anies," said Mardani.

Each political party in the coalition, said Mardani, had reason to choose the time for the declaration of the vice president.

"Each of them has a reason to move or postpone the determination of the vice president. And what happens is the usual dynamics," he said.

Sebelumnya, Ketua Badan Pemenangan Pemilu (Bappilu) Demokrat Andi Arief, meminta NasDem bijak soal waktu deklarasi cawapres pendamping Anies Baswedan. Dia juga meminta Tim Delapan di internal Koalisi Perubahan dan Persatuan (KPP) agar melakukan evaluasi terkait penggodokan nama cawapres.

"Some of NasDem's friends hope to be wiser about this. The 8 team will immediately evaluate its achievements," Andi Arief told reporters, Monday, August 21. Andi Arief assessed that the declaration of the name of the presidential candidate Anies was one of the strategies to increase Anies' electability. Therefore, he hopes that Anies will immediately declare his partner to be registered with the Indonesian KPU. "I hope that Anies Baswedan will immediately declare his vice presidential candidate as a tactic to increase his electability," said Andi Arief.
