The chairman of the North Sumatra DPRD, Baskami Ginting, said that the presence of the Medan-Kisaran toll road will improve the economy in the capital city of Medan.

"The presence of the Medan-Kisaran toll road increases economic potential in the area," Baskami said in Medan, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 22.

According to him, the Medan-Kisaran toll road connects economic production centers, both factories and MSMEs in the local area, as well as becomes access to various tourist destinations.

Baskami said the toll road would also make the effectiveness of the flow of goods and services better.

"Kita tahu perjalanan Medan ke Kisaran lewat jalur non-tol mengungkap waktu 4 jam, tapi melalui jalan tol hanya 2 jam saja. Hal ini selain dapat meningkatkan mobilitas barang dan jasa, juga penyematan biaya operasi kendaraan yang dapat meningkatkan margin keuntungan," tuturnya.

Public Relations Officer of the Indrapura-Kisaran toll road, Yusuf, said that the length of the Indrapura toll road to Kisaran 47.75 kilometers has two stages of work. Where the first stage is on the Indrapura-Limapuluh toll road with a length of 15.6 kilometers, 99.9 percent has been completed.

Meanwhile, the Limapuluh-Kisaran toll road which has a length of 32.15 kilometers has now been completed with 82.5 percent for physical development.

According to him, the toll road will be tested for feasibility in stage 1 of the Indrapura-Limapuluh toll road by the ULF team (function-worthy test), and it is planned to test the feasibility of the Indrapura-Limapuluh toll road section.
