The Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, stated that the AGO had given directions to regional prosecutors to be careful in handling corruption cases ahead of the 2024 General Election so as not to have polemics.

"We have given directions to the regions that there will be no polemic," Sumedana said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 22.

He believes that the Attorney General's instructions to the prosecutors to postpone the examination, both in the investigation stage and in the investigation of the election candidates since they were officially appointed as presidential candidates, vice presidential candidates, legislative candidates and candidates to the regions until the entire series of election stages process is not completed to stop the completion of corruption cases.

This is done to temporarily protect prosecutors and institutions of the Prosecutor's Office as examined or to become a blank campaign.

"In fact, we don't want to be investigated, to be black campaign," he said.

Previously, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin instructed the ranks of prosecutors, especially those in charge of intelligence and special crimes, to be careful and careful when receiving and handling corruption complaints involving presidential and vice presidential candidates.

Burhanuddin also asked prosecutors to be careful in receiving and handling reports of alleged corruption involving candidates for legislative and regional head members in order to anticipate the black campaign for them ahead and during the 2024 election stage.
