Parents Of Exchanged Babies In Bogor Take A Cross DNA Test

BOGOR - The baby's parents who were allegedly swapped during childbirth at Sentosa Hospital, Kemang, last year underwent a cross DNA test.

Siti Maulia's attorney, 37, Rusdy Ridho, explained that his client also underwent a DNA test after filing a complaint with the Bogor Police because he felt the baby was swapped while giving birth at Sentosa Hospital.

In addition to Siti's family, another parent with the initials D also underwent a DNA test at the same place, namely the National Police Headquarters Laboratory in Sentul, Bogor.

"At first (Mrs. D) wanted to test herself. We wanted the cross-test to be caught immediately, so that it would be fast. This cross test, three days has been completed," said Rusdy as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 21.

The cross-test, he admitted, was something his client was waiting for. "Hopefully with this result, everything can be revealed. Can find a bright spot for all," he said.

His party has also complained about the incident experienced by his client to the Bogor Police Women and Children Service Unit (PPA).

The incident began when Siti Mauliah gave birth with a fault operation at Sentosa Hospital, Kemang District, Bogor Regency, on July 18, 2022. At that time Siti was still breastfeeding the baby she was giving birth to.

However, said Rusdy, when Siti breastfeeded on the second day after giving birth, her client felt there was some difference with the baby being born, especially in the hair that looked heavier.

Then when she was about to return from the hospital, the nurse who was serving asked Siti about the marker bracelet worn by the baby. But at that time the nurse mentioned that only the bracelet was swapped.

"It was confirmed that the reason the hospital was only exchanging bracelets. Until it dragged on for this year," said Rusdy.

He explained that about two months ago his party had held an audience with Sentosa Hospital and its directors. Then the hospital gave an answer to check DNA in Jakarta.

"After 10 days later and two families were collected and the DNA test results showed that the samples A and B were negative or not biological from patient A (Siti)," he said.

Rusdy as a lawyer, tried to hold Sentosa Hospital accountable to find Siti's real child.

"The suspect from the hospital who was swapped against the bracelet was patient B, but patient B did not want to do a DNA test. Finally, as a power of attorney, we made a complaint to the PPA unit of the Bogor Police," he said.
