Jambi Police Reveals Theft Case Of 51 Motorcycles From Jakarta

JAMBI - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Jambi Police revealed a case of the theft of 51 cross-provincial motorcycles.

The Head of Public Relations of the Jambi Police, Kombes Mulia Prianto, said that the disclosure of the theft of 51 motorcycles was in collaboration with the Polda Metro Jaya.

"The total stolen vehicles that were successfully secured were 51 units of two-wheeled vehicles with various brands," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 18.

Mulia explained that during the operation, the Jambi Police Resmob secured two trucks carrying 36 units of two-wheeled vehicles on Jalan Lingkar Selatan, Jambi City.

Meanwhile, as many as 15 other vehicles were successfully secured by the Tebo Police on Jalan Jambi-Muaro Bungo, Jambi Province.

From the results of the arrest, he said, the Jambi Police and the Tebo Police coordinated with the Sub-Directorate of Ranmor Polda Metro Jaya because the majority of the vehicle's police numbers were plate B Jakarta.

From the results of the investigation, he said. it was found that there were police reports of criminal acts of theft with the Bekasi TKP, East Jakarta, and several other areas.

Furthermore, he said, a joint development was held with Polda Metro Jaya to trace the owner of the stolen vehicle. In addition, there have been four police reports that have been submitted to Polda Metro Jaya. As a result, the team met the owner and confirmed that the vehicle belonged to him.

Currently, three perpetrators have been arrested by Polda Metro Jaya, namely AW, MH, and PS. The modus operandi of the perpetrators is to receive vehicles from perpetrators who are currently still DPOs in the Cimanggis area, Depok. The vehicle was deliberately sent to the Sumatra area by land.

For their actions, the perpetrators are subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of 9 years. Meanwhile, recipients are subject to Article Penahan 481 of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of 7 years.

Meanwhile, Plt. Wadirkrimum Jambi Police AKBP Andi M Ichsan said the stolen vehicles would be sold in Padang and North Sumatra Provinces.

Furthermore, all vehicles suspected of being stolen were handed over to Polda Metro Jaya.
