Jokowi Issues Presidential Decree On Performance Allowances And Special For KPK Employees

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo issued two presidential regulations governing performance allowances and special allowances for employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

The two Presidential Regulations, namely Presidential Decree Number 50 of 2023 concerning Performance Allowances for Employees within the KPK and Presidential Regulation Number 51 of 2023 concerning Special Allowances for Employees within the KPK.

The two Presidential Regulations were signed by President Widodo on August 14, 2023. Presidential Decree Number 50 of 2023 which regulates the performance allowances of KPK employees consisting of 11 articles.

In the Presidential Decree, it is explained that in addition to being given income in accordance with statutory provisions, employees within the KPK are also given a performance allowance every month.

Reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 18, performance allowances were provided after considering bureaucratic reform assessments, organizational performance achievements and individual performance achievements.

Performance allowances are not given to employees who do not have certain positions, are temporarily dismissed or disabled, employees who are dismissed from organic positions, as well as employees who are on leave outside of state responsibilities or are free of duty to prepare for retirement.

Especially for functional officials who receive professional allowances, if the professional allowance is greater than the performance allowance in the class of positions, what is paid is the professional allowance.

Meanwhile, if the professional allowance is smaller or equal to the performance allowance, what is paid is the performance allowance, the amount of performance allowances at the KPK ranges from Rp2,531,250 to Rp33,240,000 depending on the position class.

Meanwhile, Presidential Decree Number 51 of 2023 which regulates special allowances consists of 9 articles. This Presidential Regulation stipulates that special allowances can be given to employees within the KPK who are transferred to state civil servants and who experience decreased income compared to income received in accordance with statutory provisions.

The determination of the amount of special allowances for each employee is carried out by taking into account the existing provisions, as well as implementing staffing officials within the KPK after coordinating with ministers who organize government affairs in the financial sector and ministers who organize government affairs in the field of state apparatus utilization.

Special allowances also apply to all employees including civil servants in structural or other functional positions, and/or members of the National Police who get the decision to carry out their duties at the KPK from the President or staffing officials within the KPK.

The range of special allowances provided between IDR 350,000 to IDR 35,000,000 depends on the class of positions.
