Democrats Say That Anies' Vice Presidential Candidate Has Been To One Name, Only Time To Announce

JAKARTA - The Democratic Party revealed that the prospective vice presidential candidate (Cawapres) who will accompany Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan has narrowed to one name and is just announced.

This was said by the Head of the Strategic Communications Agency (Bakomstra) of the Democratic Party DPP Herzaky Mahendra Putra, to the media on Friday, August 18.

He did not deny that there was a meeting between Team Eight from the Coalition for Change and Unity (KPP) with the prospective presidential candidate (readpres) Anies Baswedan on the sidelines of the inauguration of the SBY-ANI Monument and Gallery in Pacitan, East Java, Thursday, August 17, evening.

"We don't deny that. There were meetings and discussions, and it turns out that Mas Anies is willing to attend," said Herzaky.

Herzaky explained that the meeting initiative appeared spontaneously because members of the eight team were also invited by the Democratic Chairman, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY). The moment, he continued, was then used to hold small meetings and discussions on the plan to announce Bacawapres Anies. Where was proposed by PKS on August 17, along with the commemoration of Indonesian Independence Day.

Herzaky understands that the public can't wait for the declaration of the presidential and vice-presidential of the coalition formed by NasDem, the Democratic Party, and PKS. According to him, this momentum is only a matter of time for Anies to determine.

"The three of us, there are Democrats, NasDem, and PKS, so that it is getting tighter. The map is getting clearer, what else is expected. It's just a matter of how we consolidate internally," explained Herzaky.

Regarding the reading of Anies' vice president, Herzaky said that he had narrowed one name. The name, he said, had also been mutually agreed upon.

"We have also agreed, what is certain is that we are waiting from Mas Anies, in Jakarta," he said.
