JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono said the 50 percent work from home (WFH) scheme trial for State Civil Apparatus (ANS) within the DKI Provincial Government will begin on August 21.

Those who will work from home are employees who do not have direct contact with the community.

"Yesterday I asked the Secretary of State to maybe on August 21, we tried the first employee who did not come into direct contact to be able to provide comfort at the ASEAN Summit," Heru told reporters, Thursday, August 17.

The 50 percent WFH trial will initially last for 3 months. However, with various considerations, it was decided to implement it faster.

"Yes, the plan may be 1-2 months. 2 months' plan," he said.

The WFH trial, said Heru, was not a new case. Because, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the scheme has been implemented. Moreover, currently the work from home scheme has also been implemented in several ministries and others.

"In some Ministries, there are already local governments. So we have tested the WFH," said Heru.

Previously, the chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, decided to implement a 50 percent work from home policy and some of them will continue to work from the office next week.

Prasetyo said that WFH would be carried out on members of the council to ASN who worked at the Secretariat of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

"On August 21, I will make an internal DPRD policy for 50 percent WFH to ASN and council members as well," said Prasetyo.

Therefore, the DPRD will re-adjust the mechanism for work meetings with a hybrid system, some of which are in the office and some follow online from home.

"If I take a policy here (DKI DPRD), this is my power. Indeed, the DKI Provincial Government ASN is also placed here, but the person in charge is me," said the PDIP politician.
