The Mataram District Attorney (Kejari) confiscated assets belonging to Ruslan, who was convicted of corruption in the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) program in North Lombok with a state loss of Rp3.1 billion.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Mataram District Attorney's Office, Harun Arrasyd, said that the confiscation of this asset was a follow-up to the court's decision which had permanent legal force.

"So, with a decision that has permanent legal force, we confiscated the assets belonging to the convicts in the North Lombok area," Harun said in Mataram, Tuesday, August 15, which was confiscated by Antara.

The convict's assets in North Lombok Regency are in the form of a 400 square meter plot of land in the root-akar village, a 4,639 square meter plot of land in Andalan Village, and a 12,772 square meter plot of land in Sukadana Village.

"In addition to the land, we also confiscated the buildings on the land," he said.

The confiscation of assets belonging to corruption convicts was marked by the installation of a confiscation notice sign by the Confiscation Section Team of Evidence and Rampasan Goods and the Mataram District Attorney's Intelligence Team, Thursday, August 10.

The verdict of the Corruption Court at the Mataram District Court which became the basis for the confiscation of assets belonging to the convict was recorded with Number: 13/Pid.Sus-TPK/2017/PN.Mtr, dated July 24, 2017.

In its decision, the court judge sentenced him to 7 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of Rp. 300 million, subsidiary to 4 months in prison.

In addition, the judge charged Ruslan with paying compensation for state losses amounting to Rp1.1 billion.

The judge in the verdict also ordered the public prosecutor to confiscate the assets belonging to the convict. The assets are in the form of land and buildings that have been confiscated by the prosecutor's office.

The trial at the first instance court took place without Ruslan's presence before the panel of judges or in absentia, because Ruslan was on the prosecutor's wanted list (DPO) since his status as a suspect at the prosecutor's investigation stage.

With Ruslan's status still on the prosecutor's DPO, Harun emphasized that his party was still trying to trace his whereabouts.

In the search, the Mataram Prosecutor's Office also involved the NTB Prosecutor's Office and the Attorney General's Office of the Adhyaksa Monitoring Center (AMC).

"Even though we have confiscated the assets, the convicts are still looking for them," he said.
