JAKARTA - Dozens of iron covering water ropes or grips in the Menteng and Senen sub-districts, were stolen by thieves. As a result, a lot of garbage entered the channel.

From the observations of journalists at the location, many of the iron covers or pillars were lost, such as in the Regional Strategic Area (KSD) of the Governor of DKI Jakarta on Jalan Cikini Raya, Raden Saleh and Jalan Kramat Raya. As a result of the loss, the water lines were filled with piles of mineral water bottles, cigarette butts and leaves.

Gunawan (47), one of the pedestrians, regretted that many of the channel covers were lost. Like on Jalan Cikini Raya, many covers tomorrow were lost, causing garbage to pile up.

"If it rains, the water channel can not run smoothly, it can be seen that there is a lot of leaf waste and plastic bottles," Gunawan told reporters, Tuesday, August 15.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Jakarta Binamarga Sub-dept., Sholeh, confirmed that the water rope covers were lost in a number of locations. The loss of the iron cover has been collected to determine the exact amount.

"It is planned to be replaced by the contractor who built the time, because it is still a maintenance period and that is their responsibility," Sholeh said when contacted.

Sholeh admitted that he did not know who the channel's rope cover was stolen or stolen in what way. His staff only found out if many sewers were missing.

"The one who lost the most was in the Menteng area. We have also not reported it to the police," he said.

Sholeh explained, in order to anticipate the loss of the grip, the project in the future will be carried out by replacing the covering material. Replaced with non-attractive materials or which have no selling value.
