Police Transfer 4 Suspects In The TIP 24 PMI Case From NTB To The Lampung Prosecutor's Office

Lampung Police handed over files and four suspects in a criminal case of trafficking in persons (TPPO) with 24 female victims from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to the Lampung High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati).

The Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Regional Police, Kombes Pol Umi Fadilah Astutik, said that the second phase of the delegation was carried out after the examination documents of the suspects were declared complete or P21.

"Delegating the TIP case file after going through a series of investigations and investigations, then the case file was declared complete and transferred to the prosecutor's office," he said at the Lampung Police Headquarters, South Lampung, Monday, August 14, which was confiscated by Antara.

The four TIP suspects consisted of two men with the initials DW (29) from East Bekasi, and Irsyad alias Icad (25) from Depok, West Java.

Then there are two more female suspects with the initials Linda alias Abay (51) from East Jakarta and Anggi alias Ani (29) from Bandung, West Java.

Head of Sub-Directorate IV of Youth and Women of the Lampung Regional Police's Ditreskrimum, Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Adi Sastri, added that these suspects accommodated 24 prospective illegal migrant workers from NTB at the Rajabasa shelter, Bandarlampung, before being dispatched to the Middle East on June 6, 2023.

"These are 24 prospective illegal Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) from NTB who were recruited, then accommodated in Bogor and sent back to Lampung. They will be brought back to Jakarta, then taken to the Middle East illegally," said Adi Sastri.

In this case, the police confiscated evidence in the form of 20 passport documents for prospective migrant workers, nine plane tickets, cars, and STNK, as well as three mobile phones.

The suspects were charged with Article 2 paragraph 2 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21 of 2007 concerning Prevention and Eradication of TIP, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the 1st Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 69 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2007 concerning Indonesian Migrant Workers.

Then in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 53 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code or Article 83 in conjunction with Article 68 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2017 concerning Indonesian Migrant Workers in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 53 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
