Regarding Supporting Prabowo, PAN-Golkar Is Considered More Comfortable With The Coalition With Gerindra-PKB Compared To PDIP

JAKARTA - PDI-P General Treasurer (PDIP) Olly Dondokambey assessed that PAN and Golkar are more comfortable in a coalition with Gerindra and PKB compared to PDIP.

This was conveyed by Olly following PAN and Golkar who had just expressed their support for Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election.

"Of course, Golkar and PAN are more comfortable to be there than with PDIP," said Olly when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday, August 14, was confiscated by Antara.

According to Olly, joining Golkar and PAN to support Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate) is common in the political constellation.

PDIP did not feel left behind. He also emphasized that PDIP is close to all parties, not only PAN and Golkar. Each party, he said, had their own choices.

Olly assessed this pattern is the same as the dynamics of the 2014 General Election where many parties did not join the PDIP when Jokowi was declared a presidential candidate.

The Governor of North Sulawesi (Sulut) believes that PDIP has been finalizing the strategy for the 2024 General Election for a long time, considering that only PDIP can nominate its own presidential candidate without the support of other parties.

However, PDIP continues to open the door of cooperation with other parties

"Why are we ready longer? Because we can nominate ourselves, so our preparations are ripe. If there are parties who want to cooperate with us, we will continue to open the door," he said.

Regarding the names that were looked at to be vice presidential candidates to accompany Prabowo, Olly emphasized that PDIP was concentrating on winning Ganjar Pranowo as the presidential candidate of the party bearing the white-nosed bull symbol.

He explained that a number of names had been submitted to PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and only waited for the right time to announce it.

Looking at the previous pattern of installing presidential and vice presidential candidates, Olly views PDIP as paired with someone from NU.

"PDIP usually always, PDIP's experience with NU, always in the presidential election, cooperation continues. Bu Mega's era with Gus Dur, Hasyim Muza on the way, as well as Pak Jokowi with Pak JK (Jusuf Kalla), yesterday Mr. Ma'ruf, that's normal with NU," he said.
