Viral Motorcycle Thief In Bogor Battered Beaten By Residents

BOGOR - A video showing a motorbike thief in Bogor was beaten by a viral resident on social media. The incident occurred in Rawahingkik Village, Cileungsi Village/District, Bogor Regency, Wednesday, August 9, 2023. In the video, the perpetrator was seen stealing a motorbike in a rented house. However, the action was successfully thwarted by residents who saw the theft. Bogor Police Cileungsi Police Chief Kompol Zulkarnaen explained that the incident occurred after the victim who finished selling his merchandise at 02.00 WIB who parked his motorbike near the rented house and then went to sleep. "Where the victim himself just found out his motorbike was stolen, after residents informed that the perpetrators of the theft and his motorbike were successfully secured by residents," Zulkarnaen said in his statement, Wednesday, August 9, 2023. "The perpetrator had become the target of residents who were furious about the perpetrator's actions, before finally the Cileungsi Police officers came to the location and immediately secured the perpetrators," he added.

Zulkarnaen added that from the hands of the perpetrators, his party succeeded in securing evidence in the form of 1 unit of a white Honda Vario motorcycle and 1 piece of nail scissors. "Currently, we are still investigating the perpetrators," he concluded.
