Aceh Police Confiscate IDR 603.9 From The Corruption Case Of The COVID Pandemic Era Wastafel

BANDA ACEH - Investigators from the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Aceh Police confiscated Rp603.9 million from the alleged corruption case in the procurement of a hand washing place for the COVID-19 sink in 2020.

Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Police Kombes Winardy d said the sink procurement was carried out by the Aceh Education Office with a budget of more than IDR 43.7 billion.

"The procurement of hand washing facilities was carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic. The procurement budget was sourced from the COVID-19 refocusing allocated in the 2020 APBA at the Aceh Education Office," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 8.

Kombes Winardy said the Rp603.9 million confiscated included Rp315 million from the Aceh Education Office. Then, Rp241 million from the contract implementer, and Rp47.9 million from the supervisory consultant.

"The handling of this case has been upgraded to the investigation stage. Investigators will immediately determine the suspect after receiving the results of the calculation of state losses from the Aceh Representative BPKP," said Winardy.

According to him, investigators previously received the results of the calculation of state losses from the Aceh Representative Development Finance Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

Winardy said the state losses incurred from the alleged corruption in the procurement of sinks or hand washing stations at the Aceh Education Office reached Rp7.2 billion, from the procurement value of Rp43.7 billion.

"The state loss is calculated from the lack of volume and quality of work for making hand washing facilities in SMA, SMK, and SLB throughout Aceh. The total budget is IDR 43.7 billion with 390 work packages," said Winardy.

Previously, the Aceh Government through the Aceh Education Office in the 2020 fiscal year procured 390 packages of hand washing or portable sinks with a value of IDR 43.7 billion.

The sink procurement budget comes from COVID-19 refocusing funds. The sink is intended for high schools, vocational high schools, and extraordinary schools throughout Aceh province.

The mechanism for determining the winner of the procurement project is carried out using a direct procurement system. Each procurement package ranges from Rp. 100 million to Rp. 200 million.
