The NTB Regional Police are handling the case of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Departure Company (P3MI) based in Majeluk, Mataram City on suspicion of fraud against 130 prospective workers. "So, 130 victims here have deposited money with the company. However, since depositing this past year the victims have not received clarity about when and where to depart," said Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) of the NTB Police Kombes Teddy Ristiawan in Mataram, Antara, Monday, August 7. Teddy revealed this based on the victim's report. Those who became victims admitted that they had deposited money with a fairly diverse nominal value, ranging from Rp. 30 million to Rp. 50 million. The police also followed up on the report by securing the woman with the initials RY, who is the branch head of P3MI, during the prosecution activity, Monday afternoon. "So, we are still securing the person concerned (RY) for questioning regarding the victim's report," he said. Furthermore, Teddy said, the handling of this case is still under investigation. His party still has to study the recruitment process carried out by the company. "We will follow up on this and study it related to the recruitment process that has been running for a year. If it fulfills the elements, we will process it according to the rule of law," he said. Head of the NTB Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Service Center (BP3MI) Mangiring Hasoloan Sinaga responded to this case by revealing that the company headed by RY was officially P3MI. "However, the company's SIP2MI (Indonesian Migrant Worker Recruitment Permit) has expired," said Mangiring. P3MI with RY status as head of the branch has an office on Jalan Transmigration, Mataram City.
It is noted that the company is recruiting CPMI for the departure of Malaysia, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Poland and Australia.
