East Lombok Police Investigate Allegations Of Elpiji Gas Coupling From Poskesdes Fire

The East Lombok Resort Police, West Nusa Tenggara, are investigating the alleged LPG gas mixing activity that was revealed from the fire incident at the Teko Village Health Post (Poskesdes), Pringgabaya District. "So, from the results of the deepening of the fire incident, it was found that several three kilograms and 12 kilograms of LPG gas cylinders were most likely to have been mixed. This was later our deepening material," said East Lombok Police Chief AKBP Hery Indra Cahyono by telephone, Antara, Monday, August 7. In an effort to deepen this investigation, his party through a certain criminal act unit (Tipidter) is asking for information from two residents. Regarding the identities of the two residents, Hery admitted that he had not received complete information from his members. "What is clear is that these two people were asked for information about the fire and the presence of LPG gas cylinders at the location. So, the current status of the handling is still under investigation, there are no suspects," he said. Regarding the cause of the Teko Health Center fire that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, Hery admitted that his party had drawn conclusions from the results of the crime scene processing and requests for statements from witnesses in the field. "So, the cause of the fire was the result of a gas cylinder being run over so that sparks appeared, which caused the Poskesdes to catch fire," he said. The existence of the three-kilogram and 12-kilogram LPG gas cylinders was revealed from the results of the crime scene processing. The police found 240 three kilogram LPG gas cylinders and 30 12 kilogram LPG gas cylinders burned. Hundreds of gas cylinders were found in the side yard of the burning Teko Health Center building.

In addition, the police found four three-kilogram LPG gas cylinders broken between the piles of burning gas cylinders. The alleged mixing was also corroborated by the findings of the gas cylinder regulator who was also burned.
