Searcher Of Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School The Initial Point Of Development Of Other Criminal Suspects Panji Gumilang

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police searched several locations at the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes). Later, the evidence obtained will be used for the development of other alleged criminal acts allegedly committed by Panji Gumilang.

"After the search, of course, we will re-analyze the results, we will use them as material for the investigation again, is there possibly another criminal offense related to what was conveyed yesterday, is there anything related to fraud, embezzlement, and so on," said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Pokri Brigadier General Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro to reporters, Friday, August 4.

The search process was carried out today at around 14.00 WIB. Sub-Directorate 1 of the Directorate of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri is said to have carried out the investigation activities.

In addition, a team from Inafis was also involved in the search process. The West Java Regional Police and the Indramayu Police took part in the activity, but in the context of security.

For the time being, Djuhandani has not detailed what evidence has been obtained in the relaxation. Because the process is still ongoing.

However, this one-star general said that in handling the alleged blasphemy case, the investigative team had confiscated several pieces of evidence, such as video recordings, photos, and so on.

In fact, investigators also confiscated the social media account of the Al Zayunan Islamic Boarding School which was used to upload videos containing elements of blasphemy.

"We have confiscated the account used by the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School which was used to upload videos," said Djuhandani.

Panji Gumilang has been named a suspect in the alleged blasphemy case. The head of the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School has also been detained at the Bareskrim detention center.

Meanwhile, one form of blasphemy by calling the Qur'an an essay by the Prophet Muhammad.

In this case, Panji Gumilang is suspected of having multiple articles. First, Article 14 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations which carries a penalty of 10 years in prison.

Then, Article 45A paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph 2 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning ITE with a threat of 6 years in prison.

Finally, Panji Gumilang was also charged with Article 156 A of the Criminal Code. In this article, the penalty is 5 years in prison.
