AMBON - A 20-year-old woman who was reportedly swept away by waves on Natsepa Beach, Suli Country, Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku Province, was found dead.

According to the Head of the Public Relations Section of the Ambon Island Police, Ipda Janet Luhukay in Ambon, Friday, the body of the victim known as Agnes Pelamonia was found on Thursday night at 21:45 WIT.

"Agnes Pelamonia was reported to have been swept away by the waves on Wednesday (2/8) at 17.00 WIT, while swimming with several colleagues," said Janet, followed by ANTARA, Friday, August 4.

Residents of Suli Country tried to find Agnes in the Natsepa Beach area 1 to Natsepa Beach 2. After finding Agnes's body, residents took her to a tent on the beach and then handed her over to the family.

Bhabinkamtibmas Negeri Suli Bripka D. Sahertian who was at Natsepa Beach contacted the Salahutu Sector Police Chief Iptu Ismail to report the incident.

Police officers were then dispatched to the scene to carry out security while waiting for the ambulance to arrive at 22.52 WIT.
