Medan District Court Sessions Former Village Head In Nias Corruption Defendant Rp238 Million

The Medan District Court, Monday, began to try the defendant Lestari Harefa as the former Village Head (Kades) Dahadano Gawu-Gawu, Gunungsitoli District, Gunung Sitoli City, Nias, who is suspected of being involved in a case of alleged corruption with state losses worth Rp238,994,503.

"In that case, the Head of the Activity Management Team (TPP) named PeringatanHarefa was also charged with corruption in the 2017-2018 budget Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes) which resulted in state losses of Rp238,994,503," said the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Gunungsitoli Kejari Richi Sandi at the Medan District Court as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 31.

He said the budget was sourced from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) and the Gunungsitoli Regional Revenue Budget (APBD) worth Rp1,592,851,569 or Rp1.59 billion.

"In the report on the realization of the implementation of the 2017 APBDes, the defendant Lestari Harefa approved the disbursement of funds signed by the Harefa Commemoration for road hardening and retaining walls (TPT) of Rp430,368,558," said Richi.

In fact, Richi said that the defendant of the Harefa Commemoration only paid Rp. 121,824,000 for the transportation of material materials. Likewise, with the Remaining Budget Calculation (SiLPA) of Rp. 311,219,335, the 2017 budget for construction of Rp. 231,469,000 is considered to have irregularities. From this budget, it is suspected that the two defendants committed a criminal act of corruption of Rp. 238,994,503.

The two defendants were charged with primary charges, Article 2 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 of the Criminal Code subsidiary, Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Law on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 of the Criminal Code.

After reading out the indictment from the prosecutor, the presiding judge As'ad Rahim Lubis continued the trial next week with the agenda of the main examination of the case because the legal advisers (PH) of the two defendants did not file a memorandum of objection (exception).
