Ngada NTT Regency Government Doesn't Have A TIP Task Force, Where Does The Community Report Illegal PMI Findings?

NTT - Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Marciana D. Jone asked the Ngada Regency Government (Pemkab) to form a task force to handle and prevent criminal acts of trafficking in persons (TPPO) starting from the village.

"The Ngada Regency Government needs to form a TIP Task Force starting from the village so that the community is also active in efforts to overcome the TIP case in Ngada Regency," Marciana said in a written statement, Sunday, July 30, which was confiscated by Antara.

Marciana also had time to reveal the same thing in socializing the prevention of TIP and non-procedural Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), aka illegal in Ngada.

He said, there are still many people in this island-based province who do not understand the problem as the cause of the case of trafficking in people that has been rife in NTT.

"For example, there are still many prospective workers who will work outside their regions (inter-regional) or abroad (between countries) not equipped with official documents or documents," he said.

According to him, a number of documents such as falsification of population cards or not having yellow cards from the Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) are medical records that do not match the original data of prospective workers, as well as falsification of training certification that workers do not have.

"In addition, there are still many workers who are sent abroad without having adequate work skills so that some are victims of abuse by their employers when working abroad," said Marciana.

He hopes that the Job Training Center (BLK) in the regions can be reactivated to train prospective workers to have good work skills before working abroad.

He also hopes that the public will have to complete the required requirements, including documents or official documents to prevent trafficking in persons.

He said each prospective workforce at least knew where they were going and what work would be done while working outside the region or abroad.

"To carry out the eradication of TIP, the government is obliged to take steps to prevent and handle TIP," he said.

Marciana also asked regional apparatus organizations (OPD) related, sub-district heads to village heads and village heads to play an active role in supervising prospective workers.
