Garut Police, West Java confiscated thousands of liters of ciu and tuak liquor packaged in jerry cans and bottles to be ready for distribution from residents' homes in Bayongbong District.

"This liquor was confiscated from sister R, a resident of Sukareh Village, Bayongbong District, Garut," said Bayongbong Police Chief AKP Yusli as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 28.

The disclosure of the sale of traditional liquor began with reports from the public who were already worried about the sale ofANGE drinks in Radug Hilir Village, Sukareh Village, Bayongbong District.

The police then held a community disease operation which eventually confiscated a lot of traditional liquor packaged in jerry cans and bottles.

"Police officers confiscated 25 drums of ciu, 2 buckets of palm wine, 46 bottles of alcohol 70 percent 100 ml, 20 bottles of ciu containing 1 liter, and 18 bottles of ciu leci containing 1 liter," he said.

The police appealed to the public not to consume alcohol, and were asked to report immediately if they were selling liquor in the surrounding environment.

"We urge the public to report to the officers if anyone sells alcohol in their environment," said Yusli.
