Be Careful, Pedestrians Who Like To Play Gadgets On The Side Of Gajah Mada Street Become A Jambret Target

JAKARTA - Two robbers who were arrested by the Gambir Metro Police often look for targets for pedestrians who always play cellphones on the streets. This was revealed from the statements of the two perpetrators to the Gambir Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

"The perpetrators carried motorbikes together, their targets were taking cellphones belonging to pedestrians. The two perpetrators were looking for what cellphones were important, there was an opportunity," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Gambir Metro Police, Kompol Andhika Aris Prasetya when confirmed by VOI, Friday, July 28.

Until now, the two perpetrators are still being held at the Gambir Metro Police. Meanwhile, related to possession of sharp weapons, the police are still investigating it.

"Until now, we are still checking and investigating (sharp weapons). We haven't had a urine test yet because we are still examining the two perpetrators," he said.

The police are also still looking for the families of the two robbers who were arrested. This is because the two perpetrators did not have any identity cards.

"They are unemployed, the perpetrators are not involved in motorcycle gangs. We are still investigating the case, because there are no reporters. As soon as they were taken they failed, the perpetrator immediately fled, attempted robbery. At least we apply the emergency law," he said.

Previously, two criminals were arrested at the security post because they were caught snatching in the Gajah Mada area, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, Wednesday night, July 26. The escape action of the two perpetrators failed after they had hit a cart selling meatballs.

From Andri's statement, an eye witness to the incident, when the two perpetrators tried to escape, they actually hit a meatball seller until the meatball seller was injured.

"It happened from the direction of Tamansari to Gajah Mada. When he turned around, the perpetrator was arrested. The perpetrator carried a sharp weapon of the type of sickle," he said, Thursday, July 27.
