Ridwan Kamil Hopes Otista Bridge Becomes A New Icon In Bogor City

BOGOR - Governor of West Java (Jabar) Ridwan Kamil hopes that the Otto Iskandar Dinata Bridge (Otista), which is currently under construction and is being widened, will become a new icon in the center of Bogor City.

Ridwan Kamil said the West Java Provincial Government had allocated a budget of Rp52.6 billion for the rebuilding of the Otista Bridge which would be wider than before.

"We will rebuild, we will widen it, until the end of the year, or sooner, we will see traffic very smoothly, God willing, the economy will increase and the bridge can become a new icon for the community or tourists who come to Bogor City. I entrust it, hopefully it will run smoothly," said Ridwan Kamil as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 21.

He hopes that the smooth traffic at the end of the year in the center of Bogor City will run smoothly from the previous narrowing at the Otista Bridge.

"Today I inspect the needs of the people of Bogor City, namely the smooth running of traffic on Jalan Otista, where there is a narrowing because the bridge is narrow, yes, the legacy of the colonial era," he said.

The Bogor City Government is pursuing the progress of the construction of the Otista Bridge in the city center, which is now under drilling for the foundation building stage of eight points, in order to be able to support the traffic of tram transportation modes in the future.

Head of the Bogor City Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR) Rena Da Frina in Bogor City, Tuesday (18/7), said the construction of utility or building complements to bridges in the form of drainage, electricity flow and so on had been completed, so the current stage is the construction of a bridge foundation which is in the demolition stage by drilling.

Rena said that so far the progress of the construction of the Otista Bridge has reached 23.75 percent of the target of 23.5 percent and has now reached a divide of 0.25 percent. This achievement means that construction work is in accordance with the specified time target.

Ridwan Kamil also hopes that even though at the end of the year he will no longer be governor, as an ordinary resident of West Java, he wants to see the Otista Bridge complete.

In Bogor City, he said, there are quite a lot of programs from the province, including the construction of the Bogor Creative Center (BCC), Square, hospitals, roads, bridges, transportation, and others.

"Sata-sata ya harus begitu. Where there is good cooperation, Pak Wali-nya sangat kooperasi, sangat proaktif, tentu yang banyak menerima manfaat warga kotanya," ujarnya.
