JAKARTA - The Cakung Police have arrested a couple with the initials CB (21) and LA (21) who dumped the baby on the table of traders at Pasar Pagi, Kayu Tinggi, Cakung, East Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Cakung Police Chief Kompol Syarifah Chaira Sukma said the police arrested the CB perpetrator in his rented house in the East Cakung area.
"Armed with the results of the crime scene (the crime scene), examination of witnesses and checking CCTV footage around the crime scene, finally the CB perpetrator was arrested," said the police officer who is usually called Ipah when confirmed at the Cakung Police Headquarters, Antara, Thursday, July 20.
The CB perpetrator, said Ipah, admitted that he threw the baby away with his girlfriend with the initials LA (21).
After carrying out the development, the police managed to arrest LA at his residence in Sukapura Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, on the same day.
"The LA perpetrator admitted that he had thrown the baby at the crime scene together with the CB perpetrator," he said.
The delivery process, he said, was carried out independently by his girlfriend, CB using a knife to cut the place in his rented room.
The motive for dumping the baby boy was because the baby was born out of bed and they were reluctant to take care of it. The baby's condition is in good health. However, for physical checks, the baby was taken to the Police Hospital, Kramat Jati.
His party has transferred the case to the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the East Jakarta Metro Police for further investigation.
"The case was transferred to the PPA Polres unit. Later the Police will investigate it," said Ipah.
The incident where the baby was dumped has also gone viral on social media. The female perpetrator was seen wearing a black and long-haired shirt placing the baby wrapped in a cloth on a merchandise table at Pagi Market, Kayu Tinggi, Cakung, East Jakarta.
After that, in the CCTV footage, the perpetrator immediately left the baby in a car.
