Leading The Evaluation Of Vulnerable Area Security, Moeldoko: Security And Welfare Must Be Lined Up

Presidential Chief Of Staff, Moeldoko, had a meeting to discuss areas prone to security with Lemhanas and Wantanas, Tuesday, July 18.

JAKARTA The Presidential Staff Office together with the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) and the National Resilience Council (Wantannas) held a meeting to discuss areas prone to security. This effort is to anticipate various potentials and security threats, especially during a high political dynamics period. The discussion meeting on this initial report was chaired by the Presidential Chief of Staff, Moeldoko and attended by the Governor of Lemhannas, Andi Widjajanto, and the Secretary General of Wantannas, Vice Admiral TNI Dadi Hartanto. The meeting which was held at the Bina Graha building in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 18, was a follow-up to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Presidential Staff Office, Lemhanas, and Wantanas, on May 23, 2023. Where, the three institutions work together to oversee strategic issues and national priority programs, by forming a task force consisting of representatives of each institution. on that occasion, the Presidential Chief of Staff, Moeldoko who was accompanied by Deputy V KSP, Jaleswari Pramodhawardani emphasized the need for mapping areas prone to security, especially during high political dynamics. Because each region has different conflict intensifications. According to him, mapping does not only stop at the district level, but must reach the sub-district level. So that we are not wrong in handling it," he said. For that, he continued, there needs to be synergy between ministries/agencies for handling security and welfare, for example already running in the Papua region. Security and community welfare must be fresh. So that the problems in the field are not only the task of the TNI/Polri but also other ministries, "he added. Meanwhile, the Governor of Lemhannas, Andi Widjajanto, revealed that the party after that held a coordination meeting and focus group discussion (FGD) related to the classification of vulnerable areas. Andi assessed that it is important to have the same indicator in determining the classification of vulnerable areas. Because it will facilitate coordination, information exchange, and better understanding between the TNI, Polri, and "This will help related institutions in identifying, analyzing, and dealing with security threats in an area," he said.

In line with Andi Widjajanto, Secretary General of Wantannas, Vice Admiral of the TNI Dadi Hartanto, also emphasized the importance of synchronizing and collaborating data in every institution that handles the security sector. "If the data is well integrated, the handling can be more targeted. If necessary, this is included in the existing regulations," he said.
