PPP: Reward The Right Person To Continue Jokowi's Leadership

Acting General Chairperson (Ketum) of PPP Muhamad Mardiono assessed that the candidate for president (candidate) from the PDI-P (PDIP) Ganjar Pranowo was the right person to continue the leadership relay of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"Pak Ganjar is the right person to continue President Jokowi's leadership relay, in continuing everything that has become Pak Jokowi's work program," said Mardiono when opening the training for the winning team for the presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo, at iNews Tower, Central Jakarta, Monday, July 17, confiscated by Antara.

Mardiono explained that Ganjar was a figure born from the village. Thus, Ganjar understands the problems of people in the village.

"Ganjar grew up from a simple family. So he also certainly understands the simplicity of Indonesian children," said Mardiono.

On this occasion, Mardiono also reminded the importance of the sustainability of development programs during the leadership of Indonesian President Jokowi.

For Mardiono, if the national leadership does not continue, then all development programs will experience congestion.

"We will be poco-poco as in Latin American countries that have lost the opportunity, unable to catch the demographic bonus," said Mardiono.

For this reason, Mardiono emphasized that Indonesia must not back down from current developments.

"And those who can continue that, God willing, will be the next president, namely Ganjar Pranowo," said Mardiono.

According to the KPU schedule, registration for presidential and vice presidential candidates will start from October 19 to November 25, 2023.

Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections (UU Pemilu) regulates that pairs of presidential/vice-presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in elections that meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that the presidential/vice presidential candidate pair in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in support from the Indonesian House of Representatives. Candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election, with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
