Muna Regent Rusman Emba Prevented From Going Abroad Related To The Bribery Case For PEN Fund Management

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent the Regent of Muna, Southeast Sulawesi, La Ode Muhammad Rusman Emba from leaving the country.

This prevention is related to the alleged bribery in the management of the Muna Regency PEN loan fund at the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2021-2022.

"The parties prevented are one private party and one regional head," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Wednesday, July 12.

This prevention was carried out so that Rusman remained in the country when summoned by investigators. He will be banned from going abroad for six months.

"Until around January 2024," said Ali.

Ali reminded Rusman and one private party to cooperate. They are expected to fulfill the investigator's summons to clarify the alleged bribery.

"KPK hopes that the cooperative attitude of the party in question will be present in every agenda of summoning and examination," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK continues to develop a case of alleged bribery of PEN funds. One of the parties charged was the younger brother of Muna La Ode Regent Muhammad Rusman Emba, L. M. Rusdianto Emba.

In the construction of the case, the KPK explained that the younger brother of the Muna Regent was one of the local entrepreneurs in Southeast Sulawesi. Rusdianto is said to have many connections with several officials at the local government and central government levels.

He then helped former East Kolaka Regent Andi Merya Nur to take care of PEN funds loans. In return, Rusdianto got a project with a value of tens of billions.
