Minister Of Industry: Vocational Is The Best Practice Of Industrial-education Partnerships

vocational education is expected to be the best practice in realizing partnerships between the industrial world and the world of education. Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita continues to encourage the creation of superior human resources through the establishment of vocational, polytechnical, and Industrial Education Centers throughout Indonesia.

"We will build vocational education which is the best practice partnership that links and matches between the world of education and the world of industry," he said, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, July 8.

Especially in Padang, West Sumatra, the Ministry of Industry's Agency for Industrial Human Resources Development (BPSDMI) has SMK-SMAK Padang which focuses on printing reliable human resources in the chemical sector and SMK-SMTI Padang has concentrations in industrial chemistry and industrial automation techniques.

For vocational colleges, the AtI Padang Polytechnic also has a concentration in the agro and chemical industries. Meanwhile, BDI Padang provides training in the fields of textiles, fashion, to the production of food and beverages.

"As an educational unit and vocational training, the Ministry of Industry's work unit has a role as a center for competent industrial labor providers," said Head of BPSDMI of the Ministry of Industry Masrokhan during a visit to a work unit in Padang, West Sumatra.

BPSDMI Kemenperin pun berupaya meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas satuan kerja pendidikan dan pelatihan vocational Kemenperin di seluruh Indonesia, termasuk Padang.

"From the need for industrial human resources as many as 682 thousand people per year, the number of human resources printed annually must be increased. For that, let's work quickly to make this happen," he said.

Masrokhan suggested that every education unit and Industrial Education and Training Center in Padang should improve quality and make achievements.

"I hope the Ministry of Industry's education and training units will advance with the motto: One Vocal Unit, One Great Achievement. This means that every unit of education and vocational training has at least one big achievement that can be proud of and feel the benefits of society. Hopefully this will be a common motivation and we can achieve it, "said Masrokhan.
